"Sunshine" has developed into a study of hues using multiple yellow pigments in the petal area. Aproximately 100 hours in, the three dimensional structures are just beginning to emerge. There will be many more layers to come.

"Vanilla Lily" is a study of values. Having established the hues early in the painting process a careful rendering of the values will be the key to selling the realism and allowing the background to compliment the flower.

"The Poppy" needs careful attention in the stem area. The greens must appear to catch the light while at the same time keeping the green hues within the realm of reality. A few more passes to the poppy petals will give this painting rich yet vibrant color. Even though the underlying pencil sketch came thru in the petal region, I like the look so I may allow that to stand.
